Editors at Scholastic updated some of the references to technology and outdated fashions in the reissued books. So a “cassette player” has become “headphones” and a “perm” has become “an expensive hairstyle.”
I’ll buy it. And I’ll certainly buy these books. ESPECIALLY, because Ann M. Martin is in. MISS YOU BSC!
HOLY CRAP. yes please.

i'm in today! →
Yes, we’re a hospital, but one that works on appointments, so things have been pretty quiet around here this week. I came in 15 minutes late and still parked three levels lower than usual when I’m on time. Long lunch and lots of blog reading today. Dear government, how’s about an early dismissal?

What’s your favorite place in DC for drinks? dinner?
Thanks!

I could never choose! I like Logan’s Tavern, 18th St Lounge and I just went to Masa 14 for our holiday party and loved it. Great for dinner and apparently it’s got one of the longest bars in DC, so you can have the best of both, I suppose.
Also love Founding Farmers...
I am officially numb to the sex, violence and ham-eating, and now I just watch...

Reblogging for Amelia Bedelia reference. Loved.
lingering dinner
One of those ”yes-we’re-done-and-no-we’re-not-leaving” dinners with Bres—great college friend and partner on many adventures [Hi Bres! I wish I could find a pic.] We talked about movies, books, conspiracy theories, relationships, religion, and I have homework—read Infinite Jest (after years of your pushing, I’m going to do it) and plan a trip up to Philly.
I don’t think I have a sweet tooth. Want to know why? Bcuz I’ve lost...
– I thought this was so witty from Reilly last night. grossed me out with her barely-hanging-on tooth for hours.
bright side
i started to write a post about how i have been at work for crazy hours (and intense ones at that) all week. but that’s lame. i have a job. at one of the best places to work. i GET to do this. perception/mood change.
ps: still looking forward to getting out and grabbing sushi & wine with j &k
DONE!

Girl, you work out a lot? Because, wow, you have some big calves.
– random man on a patient unit this morning.
i am always amazed by the attention my overdeveloped calf muscles illicit. i could be embarrassed, but i’m choosing to take the comments on what 24 years of walking on your toes will do as compliments. perception is reality, right?
juxtaposition
i realize my diabetes rant sits directly above my post on holiday cookies i recently baked. um, i run a lot. so there.
why didn't i do this sooner?
hairdresser when done: you look good with bangs!

comcast blows
littlelaur:
ok so have you ever noticed that the “descriptions” of shows on comcast seem kinda weird? they always seem to be opinionated or have strange typos and boyfriend and i are always cracking up about it.
well this morning, boyfriend found a tumblr that is cracking up about it too. this made me die laughing: http://wtfcomcast.tumblr.com/
I’ve e-mailed this to four people already....
While, right now, I’m neither interested in raising a child nor in playing...
